Workshops
The first day of TROG 2026 will showcase three specific and engaging full day workshops, each of which has a different focus, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Tuesday 17 March 2026
You can register to attend just a workshop, add one to your single day registration or select one as part of a Full Conference registration. These can be added to a registration or changed at a later date.
The final program for each workshop will be available later in the year, check back here for more details.
All workshops will occur at the Pullman Albert Park.
Clinical Research Education Workshop (CREW)
The Clinical Research Education Workshop (CREW) is a highly successful TROG Cancer Research initiative that provides an inclusive forum for professional development for all TROG members including trial coordinators, data managers, research nurses and research managers. This full-day workshop provides an opportunity to increase the knowledge base of our membership and equip all TROG members with the tools to conduct high-quality research and excellent data management, whilst ensuring that the utmost care is provided to patients and consumers.
Each year this workshop has been growing in popularity among the membership and we expect to attract a multidisciplinary audience of approximately 80 members at the TROG 2026 ASM.
Technical Research Workshop (TRW)
The TROG TRW is a full-day workshop for Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists and Radiation Oncologists. It is designed to help facilitate participation in clinical trials and to promote the use of new technology in clinical research.
The 2025 TRW featured engaging activities, including a hands-on networking session and a debate. The 2026 workshop will provide valuable insights into research opportunities at TROG, discuss new radiation therapy technologies and explore the intricacies of complex clinical trials.
Statistical Methods, Evidence Appraisal & Research for Trainees Workshop (SMART)
The RANZCR SMART Workshop is a full-day workshop directly designed to enhance trainee knowledge and skills in Statistical methods, Critical appraisal of the medical literature and Research methodology.
The workshop will have interactive small group sessions, guided by Radiation Oncologists and Biostatisticians, to discuss actively recruiting and published cancer clinical trials. The SMART Workshop is an opportunity for trainees to meet with local researchers within TROG, and international researchers.
There are two SMART workshops that run on alternate years: Study Design Concepts (workshop A) and Evidence Appraisal Skills (workshop B). Trainees are encouraged to attend both workshops. This year’s SMART Workshop theme is Study Design Concepts (workshop A).
The Workshop will be followed by a catered networking function.
